A police officer was charged with having unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor in Freeport Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
Constable 2954 Lionel Pryce, who is attached to the Airport Police Station, appeared before Magistrate Franklyn Williams in Court One.
It is alleged that Pryce had unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old juvenile between October 10 and October 11, 2005. He was not required to enter a plea to the charge, which is an indictable offence.
Kwasi Thompson represented Pryce, who was granted $5,000 bail with one surety. The matter was adjourned to April 24, 2006.
The officer will be suspended from duty as a police officer, pending the outcome of the matter.
