Khabarovsk territorial government on Monday recapped the results of foreign economic activities in 2005. According to the projections of the Khabarovsk Territorial Ministry of Economic Development, foreign trade turnover in 2006 is to grow to USD4 billion, including USD3.3 billion of exports and USD720 million of imports.
Foreign investments are to grow to USD280 million. In 2005, the Khabarovsk Krai attracted USD245 million worth of foreign investments, 2.5 times more than in 2004.
The Bahamas accounted for 53.5% of total investments. The money, which was said to have used to construct the coal terminal in De-Kastri has prompted calls for an investigation into the relationship between Bahamian officials, money laundering and the Russian mafia.
