Grand Bahama Auto Show Postponed

“We have had great participation sign up but due to Grand Bahama’s many events we, the dealers made a decision to postpone to May,” said Karl Martin, Quality Auto administrator.

This year’s auto show will again feature the newest lines in vehicles from two of Grand Bahama’s largest car sales companies: Freeport Jet Wash and Quality Auto. Both companies will showcase several brands of their 2006 lines. Unfortunately, not participating this year is Holiday Auto, which has been affected by late vehicle shipments of their Volkswagen and Skoda vehicles due to high consumer demand in the U.S.

Holiday Auto, however, still has a presence at the event and will showcase its lines in late May.

Commonwealth Bank, Scotia Bank, Royal Bank of Canada, First Caribbean International Bank and the Bank of The Bahamas will be in attendance at the auto fair offering great low rates for Grand Baha-mians.

“This is a great time to buy,” said Joey Roberts, Freeport Jet Wash Car Sales Manager. “The local banks really make an effort to reduce rates at this one-day event and the savings are great.”

Also participating will be local insurance companies such as J.S. Johnson and Caribe Insurance, which will be available for on-the-spot quotes that are needed to insure new car purchases.

In addition, the event also incorporates local automotive accessories and companies. These include repair shops and installation suppliers.

“This is now our third event and we feel it is imperative that we continue each year as it has become an expected happening in Grand Bahama. Since our first Show held at RND, the public has enjoyed the chance to view all of the islands’ new cars at one convenient location. We have an exciting line-up of vehicles to show everyone this year and we are definitely out to impress,” stated Whitfield Bain, Quality Auto vehicle sales manager.

“We are really pleased to be having our show again this year,” stated Larry Albury, Freeport Jet Wash operations manager. “This year we are receiving tremendous support from our corporate partners, who will all be attending the event, and we are looking to be at a new venue this year so we can reach more residents in a bigger setting. Final details will all be advertised in the daily papers.”
