The murder trial of Troy Rolle was delayed a second time after a full complement of jurors were not present for the start of proceedings Wednesday.
The 25 year old is accused of killing Everette Antonio Allen, 33, outside a nightclub in Eight Mile Rock on February 8, 2002. The deceased was shot at Oceanview Club in Jones Town.
On Monday, the matter had to be adjourned to Wednesday after Defence Attorney Thompson, who practices in New Providence, was unable to appear. However, the court learned yesterday that 12 jurors were absent without an apparent excuse.
Defence Attorney Thompson and Prosecu-tor Neil Brathwaite, who is appearing for The Crown, both expressed the importance of a full complement of jurors for both sides to satisfactorily choose 12 jurors from.
Justice Stephen Isaacs warned the jurors present that there are penalties which apply for failure to appear in court for jury service.
As 48 jurors make up a full jury pool and there were not sufficient jurors to proceed, Justice Isaacs adjourned the matter to today when the trial is expected to begin.
