The merger is expected to add to Bristol’s already strong portfolio. Since Bristol’s acquisition of Allied Domecq (now sold) in 1993, Bristol has grown from twenty employees to a staff of over 125 employees and 13 retail outlets in Nassau and the Family Islands. The 100 per cent Bahamian owned company is operated from a massive 44,000 square foot warehouse, housing administrative offices and a retail outlet at their head office on Gladstone Road. In addition to Bacardi Rum, Bristol also represents wines and spirits and non-alcoholic brands from various countries, including Austria, Costa Rica, Argentina, Australia, California, Chile, France, Italy, New Zealand and Spain.
Although there are many rums on the market in The Bahamas, Bacardi is the only rum produced locally and the first major product to be exported from The Bahamas.
