According to Inspector Walter Evans, Press Liaison Officer for The Royal Bahamas Police Force, the body of 33-year-old Revis Roberts was found lying in a pool of blood around one am on Wednesday.
“Homicide number 15 for the year took place on Dorsette Ally off West Street,” said Insp Evans. “Police received reports of gunshots being heard in that area. Upon arrival, they found the lifeless body of a man lying between two buildings. He suffered gunshot wounds to the face area.” Insp Evans added that at this point, officers are following significant leads into the matter. Meanwhile, such killing is the latest of a string of homicides to occur in the past month.
Just two weeks ago, Adrian Roker was killed near his home. The 33-year-old fisherman was reportedly stabbed to death in a Haitian community in the Nassau Village area. Officers on the scene that night, met the lifeless body of Mr Roker lying on his back, with a stab wound to the right upper chest area. He became the country’s 13th homicide. Days before, a 40-year-old husband and father of one became the country’s 12th murder victim, after he was shot to death sometime around 11 pm on Friday March 31. Angelo Strachan had just pulled into the driveway of his Zion Boulevard home which he shared with his parents, wife and son, when he was approached and shot to death by an unknown gunman.
