What's New at Olde Towne's Oyster Bar & Grill

Sandyport's local oyster bar is now open for breakfast with new and more extensive lunch and dinner menus as well as a comprehensive wine list to complement those additional lobster, salmon and scallop dishes. Surprisingly, a place which specialises in seafood has become known for its delicious burgers which have received a host of compliments from customers including the claim that these half-pound Angus beef burgers are the best on the island.

The outdoorsy, relaxed feel of the place has attracted Sandyport's Beach & Resort guests as well as locals who wander down to the canal-side Grill for a light lunch-time salad or a dinner-size seafood entre with business colleagues or family.

The nautical feel of the restaurant, the sea breeze, and informal bar and bench seating make for a real island experience reminiscent of the out islands and the Nassau of yesteryear. One realises the great treasure of the islands so sought after by visitors and locals alike: the simplicity of a good meal while appreciating the outdoors.

With his heart steeped in the island tradition and his eye upon the future, owner Michael Fowler is adding some very modern elements to the Grill, including wireless internet access, frequent diner cards which enable customers to gather points toward free meals (300 points equals $30 off), a larger, double-sided bar, and a boat ramp to service cruising customers.

Explains Mr. Fowler, "Customers get one point for every dollar they spend and it is recorded on the Oyster Bar & Grill card like a credit card. It is hoped that in the future people will be able to use these cards at various restaurants in The Bahamas as we build up a network." ᅠAs an incentive for signing up, diners receive $10 off. Cardholders may check on their points by entering their card number at www.seemypoints.com.

In addition to their all day service from 8am to 10:30pm, Sandyport's Olde Towne Oyster Bar & Grill also offers catering services. Since its opening in November it has supplied delicious seafood platters for the Bahamas International Film Festival's Bahamian Theme night, and several private functions and house parties.

To experience island living at its sensory best, visit the Oyster Bar & Grill. It's a perfect Friday night date, a family staple, a place to unwind with colleagues, clients or friends.
