Full Gospel Baptist Bishop Earl Randolph (Randy) Fraser, who is facing a sex charge, returned to a Magistrate’s court in Bank Lane yesterday where a date was set for the start of a summary trail.
Bishop Fraser is on a $10,000 bail after being charged recently with having sexual intercourse with a dependent. He stands accused of abusing his trust.
During the brief court proceeding yesterday, it was decided that the bishop would appear before Magistrate Marilyn Meeres on July 17 for the start of his trial.
Bishop Fraser had the option of having his case heard in the Supreme Court or the Magistrate court, which he chose.
A summary trail means that the case will be heard and decided in the Magistrateメs court. Witnesses will be called to give testimony, as is the case in the Supreme Court.
Bishop Fraser, who leads Pilgrim Full Gospel Baptist Temple, is accused of having sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old female between July 2005 and February 2006.
He arrived at court shortly before 10am yesterday before dozens of curious onlookers who had assembled in the area of court number 5 trying to get a glimpse of him.
Following his short court appearance, the bishop was rushed into a waiting vehicle, which whisked him away from the area.
