The results of the autopsy report on Prison Principal Officer Van Johnson, whose body was discovered in his truck at Potter’s Cay earlier in the week, could be released as early as today.
Police press liaison officer Inspector Walter Evans told the Guardian yesterday: “We expect results from that autopsy as early as tomorrow.”
The much anticipated results would put to rest speculation surrounding the exact cause of Johnson’s death.
A little more than a month ago Johnson testified as a witness at the Coroner’s Inquest into the deaths of a prison officer and an inmate during the January 17 prison break out at Her Majesty’s Prison.
Evidence arose in the case that implicated Johnson as the person who provided the four escaped prisoners with hacksaw blades, which were used to cut through cell bars.
Johnson denied the claim and said he had no knowledge of the escape.
