A 12-year-old boy was fighting for his life last night in hospital – after reportedly being beaten by a police officer.
Just minutes before press time last night, family members contacted The Tribune to say that the boy was undergoing emergency surgery after a CAT scan revealed bleeding in his skull.
They explained that the boy had been involved with an altercation with another boy on Wednesday.
The uncle of the second boy, reportedly a police officer, jumped in and attacked the youth, the family claimed.
Due to the lateness of the hour, The Tribune was unable to verify the reports with the police, but will seek a full account of the incident today.
