26-year-old Harrison Stubbs, a resident of Nassau Village, was gunned down late Sunday night.
According to Superintendent Leon Bethell, head of the Central Detective Unit (CDU), police received reports about a shooting incident around 9:00pm.
When officers responded to the scene on Lady Slipper Avenue in Garden Hills, they found Mr Stubbs lying on the side of the road with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel were called to the area to examine Stubbs’ body which was transported to Princess Margaret Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police believe Mr Stubbs was shot in a car passing through the area just after 9:00pm and then dumped in Lady Slipper Avenue in Garden Hill Estates off Soldier Road.
Residents told police they heard gunshots in the area shortly before a car was seen speeding away from the place where Mr Stubbs’ body lay, police said.
But police do not have a detailed description of the car or any information about who was driving it, or the number of people in the vehicle.
Detectives are asking witnesses to come forward with any information that may help them catch the killer.
