Concerned that telling the truth may negatively affect tourism, Bahamas police refuse to release information about the latest armed robbery of a tourist.
Nassau experienced a string of armed robberies this weekend, one in which a tourist was held up at gunpoint.
Details about the incidents were still sketchy yesterday, but ASP Clayton Fernander told The Tribune that four persons were held up at gunpoint in four separate incidents.
The armed robbery of the tourist occurred on Friday, however, ASP Fernander could not give a time or location where the crime took place.
He could, however, confirm that no shots were fired and no one was harmed during any of the robberies.
An undetermined amount of cash and personal items were stolen during the armed robberies.
Police are still searching for suspects in connection with these crimes and urge any members of the public with information to come forward and assist in the investigations.
