Three downtown businesses, one restaurant, two luxury retailers, came away as winners in a MasterCard-Ministry of Tourism initiative designed to boost revenue and enhance the visitor experience.
The winners — Van Breugel’s restaurant on Charlotte Street, Quantum Duty Free and Little Switzerland, both on Bay Street — received international recognition and a cheque rewarding them for the greatest increase in performance year-over-year as a result of their partnership in the MasterCard ‘Find Your Way’ initiative.
“The outstanding performances of Van Breugels, Quantum and Little Switzerland inĀ partnering with MasterCard in ‘Find Your Way’ demonstrated their willingness to go the extra mile, tell customers about the program if they did not already know and publicize it in their materials and in their locations,” said Geneva Cooper, Senior Director, Ministry of Tourism.
“As a result, not only did those businesses benefit from a better bottom line, visitors felt they got more value during their stay in Nassau.”
The promotion encourages visitors to Nassau and Paradise Island to use their credit or debit MasterCard for purchases by offering special incentives. Each of the 40-plus participating partners — retailers, rental car companies, restaurants, attractions, spa and excursions — chooses a gift or incentive they want to provide for those paying with the MasterCard ‘Find Your Way’ card enclosed in a comprehensive map or brochure offered to guests at welcome desks in the airport and at the cruise port, in some hotels and taxis and other popular venues. Persons may also use their MasterCard receipt number to enter the MasterCard Sweepstakes with luxury prizes, including a stay at Graycliff.
