Over 400 guests gathered for a sold-out fashion show at NYGÅRD’s flagship NYGÅRD Fashion store at 1626 Kenaston Blvd, WPG, MB this past Friday night.
The event, Fall Fashion Premiere, saw the excited guests mix and mingle over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, before taking their seats and being treated to a truly unforgettable fashion show, featuring NYGÅRD’s Fall/Holiday 2010 Collection.
Adorned in the luxurious fabrics and intricate detailing of the season, the models wowed the cheering crowd, showcasing the top looks from five of the company’s labels: Peter Nygård, Bianca Nygård, NYGÅRD Collection, Tan Jay and ALIA, all of which were accessorized with extravagant, show-stopping props. A local dance troupe added a dash of Latin flare to the runway, bringing the crowd to their feet.
Once again, the highlight of the night took place when ten breast cancer survivors made their runway debut, their presence fostering an aura of hope & courage and reiterating the company’s commitment to helping eradicate this disease.
In true NYGÅRD fashion, as a follow up to last year’s clothing donations pronouncement, the company an-nounced its recent $60,000 clothing donation to six remarkable charities that enhance the lives of women. It also announced the design, fabrication and donation of 1,500 gowns, worth $90,000, to CancerCare Manitoba to aid in making the often daunting experience of getting a mammography much more comfortable and positive.
