A 15-year-old male student of C.C. Sweeting High School was stabbed numerous times during an altercation on campus around 9am on Wednesday September 15.
The victim was taken to the hospital and police took several students into custody as a result of the violence. The condition of the victim was not revealed.
Parents expressed concerns about the rising violence at the school and fears over the safety of their children.
Superintendent Stephen Dean said that details regarding the fight were still being investigated and that several of the students taken into custody were assisting in the investigation.
Violence in schools and between students seems to be a growing trend, with several high profile incidents occurring this year. Police have indicated intentions to increase patrols on school campuses.
