NASSAU, The Bahamas – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Brent Symonette will lead a delegation to Havana, Cuba to participate in the Third Caricom-Cuba Ministerial Meeting, Friday, September 17, 2010.
The main issues up for discussions are Caricom-Cuba relations as well as Haiti’s reconstruction following the January 12, 2010 earthquake.
There will also be an exchange of views on items on the International Agenda such as:
The environment and sustainable development;
The Millennium Development Goals; and,
Integration and political coordination in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Eugene Newry, First Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration will accompany Mr Symonette. Bahamas Ambassador to Cuba Vernon Burrows will meet them on their arrival.
