For the second time in less than three months, the Bahamasair office at Oakes Field has been robbed by an armed gunman.
Police report that around 2:30pm two black men entered Bahamasair demanding cash. One of the men was armed with a handgun. An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from the government’s airline.
Police confiirmed that no shots were fired and none of the staff or customers were injured during the incident.
Bahamasair Deputy General Manager Van Diah said that the location would be closed today as a result of the robbery.
This was the third time a Bahamasair office has been robbed in the last three months. The Palmdale office was robbed in August.
