The Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) is reversing charges to thousands of customers who were sent erroneous bills as a result of a glitch in the company’s billing system.
Yesterday BTC sent out a text message to its GPRS customers which include those that use Blackberry Internet services and Internet services informing them of the charge reversals.
BTC VP Marlon Johnson said there was a technical glitch in BTC’s billing system that affected its rating tables.
“Due to a system error, you were billed incorrectly for ‘GPRS charges’ on your last bill. These charges were reversed and will be reflected on your next bill,” said BTC in the text message.
Customers who received BTC bills over the past few weeks noticed extraordinary charges.
