An island-wide manhunt is on for as many as six men believed to have stormed into a Garden Villas apartment Monday afternoon and opened fire on the male occupant.
Up to press time, the victim, who was shot in the stomach and leg, was still being treated for his injuries at the Rand Memorial Hospital.
While police have no motive for the shooting at this time, Police Press Liaison Assistant Superintendent Hector Delva said the victim is believed to be a resident of Bimini and he was one of two people inside the apartment.
According to reports, around 2:30 p.m. four individuals came out of a vehicle, went into the Garden Villas apartment and two shots were fired.
All of the men, “four or six,” were reportedly armed with handguns and other weapons.
“The ambulance was called, he was taken to the hospital where he is now being treated,” he said.
The police is also on the look-out for a tan-coloured Saturn, licence plate un-known, which the men made their escape in.
