Bad Day For Violent Criminals in The Bahamas

Three men were arraigned in court on charges related to violence.

Rony Joseph, 34, was arraigned on murder charges on a murder charge for the killing of Jean Jeanty on November 20.

Joseph was not required to enter a plea. Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez ordered that a preliminary inquiry be held.

According to police, the murder took place around 5:00am on Saturday at Bacardi Road, off Carmichael Road.

Jeanty was at home when a man armed with a handgun shot him.

That case was adjourned until November 30 and was transferred to Court 11.

In other court news, a 17-year-old male was also arraigned on murder charges for the murder of Ryan Cambridge, 19, on November 21.

Cambridge died while attending a party at Fort Charlotte on Sunday. He was stabbed in the chest.

Police say Cambridge and a relative were at the event when a fight broke out.

The juvenile was not required to enter a plea and a preliminary inquiry was ordered by the magistrate.

Another man who police allege was involved in the Fort Charlotte fight was also arraigned on the charge of for causing harm.

Police say that Deran Sands, 24, of Kemp Road, caused harm to Emmanuel Bain on November 21. He was awarded $3,000 bail with one surety.

The matter was transferred to Court 5 and adjourned until December 6.
