Breaking the mold for corporate calendars, Scotiabank has taken on a vibrant new look for its 2011 calendar. Embracing their partnership with the Downtown Nassau Partnership, the Bank’s calendar features images from the Love My Bahamas Downtown Art Experience.

The Love My Bahamas project involved the production and installation of fourteen public artworks that have transformed historical downtown Nassau buildings into exciting works of art.

“Scotiabank is an avid supporter of the Arts and this calendar partnership is but one tangible way that we demonstrate our commitment to contributing to the future of the community in which we operate,” said Leah R. Davis, Scotiabank’s Senior Manager of Marketing & Public Relations.

The 2011 calendar captures the works of the fifteen artists that participated in the Love My Bahamas Downtown Art Experience project “We are bringing their amazing downtown expressions into households around the Bahamas.”

“The 2011 Scotiabank calendar is an excellent opportunity to expand the reach of the Love My Bahamas art project.  We are grateful to Scotiabank for its ongoing commitment to revitalization of downtown Nassau.  This partnership supports our view that arts, culture and heritage are critical to the redevelopment of the City,” said Vaughn Roberts, Managing Director of the Downtown Nassau partnership

As a stakeholder in Downtown Nassau with three locations between Marlborough Street and East Bay Street, the Bank has made a commitment to an ongoing partnership with the Downtown Nassau Partnership to bring about the revitalization of downtown.

The Downtown Nassau Partnership (DNP) was formed in 2008 as a joint venture of the private and public sectors to achieve a progressive redevelopment of the city of Nassau.

Roberts explained, “One of our main tasks is to develop a framework for government to legislate a self-funding Business Improvement District that will manage and promote the city of Nassau going forward.”
