Despite assurances by the government that oil exploration in the Bahamas has ceased, the survey vessel M/V Osprey Explorer has started acquiring close grid 2D seismic off the Bahama Islands for Bahamas Petroleum.
This program covers the company’s four southern licenses, although it has an option to acquire further seismic, using the services of Osprey Navigation Co., in its northern license area.
CEO Dr Paul Crevello said: “This is a milestone event for Bahamas Petroleum and adds to the regional activity which currently includes a 3D seismic survey in Cuba’s block L, which is adjacent to the company’s licences.”
