In a press conference held yesterday morning in Nassau Village, businessman, activist and political personality Omar Archer announced that there have been “serious claims” of officers abusing their power while on the new Rapid Strike night raids – which are being touted as key to fighting the rampant crime problem.
Rapid Strike was launched on January 19 in an effort to reverse the escalating violent crime in New Providence.
The operation is said to target people who the police suspect to be involved in murders, armed robberies, possession of illegal firearms, stealing of vehicles, stabbings, house break-ins, and all other criminal activity.
