For the past five years ‘Ride for Hope Bahamas’ has been cycling in spring to raise massive amounts of money to aid in the fight against cancer in the country. This year will be no different.
The ride which will take place in Governors Harbour, Eleuthera, on April 9 will host hundreds of cyclists from around The Bahamas. The charitable-bike ride was co-founded by Steven Holowesko and is being sponsored by Odyssey Aviation Bahamas.
The day of the ride is described as a ‘great’ one for the communities and families in Eleuthera by Holowesko. The picturesque route for the participants will include a two loop trek around Governors Harbour heading north over the infamous Glass Window Bridge and back.
An elated Holowesko stated that not only will support tents be set-up along the route but members of the community will come out and cheer on the participants. Smaller cyclists will pedal one mile, to the ice cream stand with the remaining members in the field riding up to 100 miles.
Holowesko confirmed that the ride has grown throughout the years since the first one, which took place in 2005. The event is the brainchild of Holowesko and his sister.
President of Odyssey Aviation Bahamas, Steven Kelly is pleased to be partnering with ‘Ride for Hope Bahamas.’
