Former art teacher Andre Birbal, 48, was sentenced to 35 years in prison for sexually molesting two of his male students.
Justice Hartman Longley severely admonished the sex offender, saying, “This is undoubtedly one of the worst cases of sexual molestation of young boys I have ever encountered,” the judge said.
Birbal used his position at school and at a church to gain the trust of boys as young as 11 and 12. he even had the parents fooled.
The judge told Birbal: “You used the offices of the church and your position, as a teacher, and your relationship with the boys to gain confidence of the boys, but also the confidence and trust of their parents while scheming all the time to carry out a diabolical plot of the predatory sexual exploitation of these bpoys to gratify your depraved sexual appetite.”
It is ironic that the same comments could be made for ‘Bishop’ Randy Fraser, who allegedly used his position as a pastor and a guardian to sexually manipulate a young girl.
Fraser’s case has been ongoing for years with constant delays due to alleged legal corruption.
