Dedication is not without reward at L. W. Young Jr. High School on Bernard Road. Fifty-Six students earning Grade Point Averages of 3.0 and above participated in an awards ceremony designed to celebrate their success, reward the improvement of hard-workers and congratulate their achievements.
In attendance was Mrs. Dressler Sherman, Superintendant for the Northeastern Division of schools, The Honorable Fred Mitchell, Member of Parliament for the Fox Hill Constituency, and numerous parents and well-wishers. During her address, Mrs. Sherman recognized the efforts of Young Chef Competition Winner Anastacia PapaGeorge (also of L. W. Being awarded during the ceremony was Shernard Gray an 8th grade student who achieved the highest honor with a GPA of 3.63 and was awarded an ACER mini-laptop by The Honorable Fred Mitchell, MP for Fox Hill.
