The Court of Appeal late yesterday dismissed the appeal filed by Bahamas Telecomunications Company unions who were seeking to block the sale of BTC’s majority shares to Cable and Wireless Communications.
The justices handed down their decision after 5 p.m. and said they will give their reasons in writing at a later date.
This represents another major blow to the unions, which insist that the sale would be bad for BTC workers and the country.
The justices ordered that the unions pay all costs in both the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
