The venue of the 2011 Miss Bahamas Swimsuit “Fast Track” competition has changed.
The event will now be held at the Abaco Beach Resort at Boat Harbour in Marsh Harbour, Abaco.
This picturesque resort sits on 40 beachfront acres complete with breathtaking sandy beaches, lush tropical gardens and surrounding cays. Abaco Beach Resort has been renowned as the “Hub of the Abacos” since 1955.
In every direction, pink sand beaches and weathered bluffs line the windward coasts, while mangrove creeks and bonefish flats extend for miles leeward. Pristine offshore cays and barrier islands surround the resort, creating a sheltered waterway known as the Sea of Abaco, one of the world’s finest cruising and fishing grounds.
Here, fronting a sandy cove caressed by sapphire waters, the 89 oceanfront rooms, suites, cottages, and residences of this resort celebrate the true “Out Island spirit.” Simply and affectionately known as “Boat Harbour” to thousands of boating enthusiasts, this laid back hotel has become a legendary sanctuary for island hopping, fishing, diving and snorkeling and boating.
And now, it will become known for beautiful women and fabulous physiques! The winner of this fast track event will automatically advance to the semifinals of the competition. Nassuvians wishing to attend the event are in for a special treat, as SkyBahamas is offering a one-day excursion rate of $110 round trip.
The date of the swimsuit competition is Easter Monday, April 25, beginning at 1 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Diamonds International Watch & Design on Bay Street; Mario’s Bowling Palace; Belle Image boutique on Bernard Road; or at the event.
