The newest party to jump on the political bandwagon is the People’s Deliverance Party (PDP), headed by former PLP leadership hopeful Paul Moss.
The newly-formed party says they have candidates lined up to run in constituencies throughout New Providence and the Family Islands.
A source close to the party told a local newspaper that they will have a markedly “pro-Bahamian” platform.
“They intend to launch on May 24,” said the source close. In addition to Mr Moss, Troy Garvey (a former NDP member) and Glen Rolle, both from Grand Bahama are said to have taken executive positions in the PDP.
The new PDP party will join the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) and the National Development Party (NDP) vying for attenton in the next general election. The Bahamas Democratic Movement (BDM), headed by Cassius Stuart, recently disbanded after being was absorbed into the FNM.
