The 2011 National Independence Committee inclusive of Family Island Administrators and headed by chairperson Mrs. Anita Bernard will host a live Press Conference on Friday, 13th May, 2011. The conference will be broadcast via 1540 Radio Bahamas.
The theme “38 Years – United in Love and Service seeks to remind Bahamians and friends of The Bahamas of the camaradrie, tenacity and fortitude of a people over the journey of 38 years.
Events such as Natioal Pride Day, Ecumenical Service, Fun Run/Walk, Community Float Parade, Independence Beat Retreat and many others will be detailed at the conference. The Committee is seeking the participation of the entire Bahamian community especially that of our Youth as the story of a proud nation is told again, at Independence.
Subsequently, a National Logo Competition has been launched to attract the participation of our YYouth and to identify a single logo that will be used on all Independence paraphernalia.
