Track Road Theatre is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to positive social development through the arts. Created in 1996 and incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2002, TRT has performed all over the Bahamas, mounting our productions at various places in Nassau, Freeport, Exuma and Abaco.
Members of Track Road are talented writers, actors, directors as well as stage, light and sound crew.
Track Road’s next major goal is the development of our own building to serve as a home theatre for the group, but more importantly to be a community centre with a year-round programme of film, theatre, and workshops in the arts and life-skills for all ages
TRT’s aim has always been to shine a light on the issues affecting the Bahamian community, by continuing the conversation toward developing a more aware and conscious society. Our theme this year is building capacity and we are delighted to announce that the programming department of TRT is open to submissions of original plays and short films from the wider community. Submissions will be accepted from anyone fourteen years of age and older. There is no limit to the number of works that one can submit, and all genres will be considered.
Plays or film scripts should be submitted electronically, (via email) to submissions@tracktroad.org. Each submission should include a supplementary synopsis of the piece, as well as a brief description of the main characters. The synopsis and character descriptions, combined, should not exceed 2,000 words.
Each stage play or screenplay should not have more than ten characters, which includes supporting characters. In addition, each submission must include the author’s name, telephone number, and an e-mail address so that TRT can notify the author in the event that his or her work is considered for a full production.
The deadline for submission of scripts to be considered for production in 2011, is May 31, 2011. However, one can submit works, to be considered for production in the 2012 season, until November 1, 2011.
