Visitors to The Bahamas who are very likely to recommend the destination to others are reporting greater visitor satisfaction in 2010 compared to five years earlier.
Sounds good but you know the old saying, “figures lie and liars figure.”
The information, released by the Ministry of Tourism yesterday, was based on data gathered from exit surveys.
But the data released lacked what may be a critical bit of information needed to understand the whole picture of satisfaction levels. It did not report on the actual increase or decrease in the percentage of stopovers who would recommend this destination to others.
The real question to ask is… are a greater percentage of visitors likely to recommend the Bahamas as a vacation destination? The Ministry of Tourism has refused to supply the answer to that question. So, we’ll take that as a “no”.
