Drug War Could Escalate

Cops are allegedly concerned that friends of Dion “Emperor” Knowles, who was murdered last week, intend to kill the two Haitian-Bahamian men who are believed to be responsible for the gang leader’s murder.

According to the PUNCH, Knowles’ gang reportedly has plans to blast the prison bus with a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launcher and AK-47 assault rifles as it transports the two men to Fox Hill prison after their arraignment today.

The pair was arrested in Abaco last Thursday, after Knowles was knocked off his motorcycle and shot dead on Harold Road the night before.

The tabloid says that police may use a DEA/DEU helicopter to transport the two suspects to the prison.  Of course, an RPG could just as easily blast the helicopter out of the sky. Extra armed guards are expected to be on duty during the arraignment.

In related news, MP for Fox Hill Fred Mitchell has reportedly had talks with police about the annual Fox Hill Day Parade next week on Tuesday, August 9. Mitchell is allegedly concerned that the parade could explode into a violent confrontation between rival drug gangs fueding over Knowle’s death.

Also, a cache of over 800 bullets, allegedly belonging to Knowle’s gang, was found at Arawak Cay. Five men are being questioned by police.
