The two men who were arrested in Abaco in connection with the murder of Dion “Emperor” Knowles have been released by the police pending further investigation. The men, who are still considered suspects, were arrested shortly after they arrived in Abaco, one day after Knowles was shot to death near the round-about on Milo Butler Highway.
Word on the street is that Knowles’ murder was a revenge hit for the murder of Dessaline Nicolas, who was gunned down outside his home in Englerston on July 21.
Knowles and Nicolas had a long running feud and Knowles was sought by police for questioning in Nicolas’ death.
Only days before his death, Police Commioner Ellison Greenslade has labelled Knowles one of the country’s most wanted suspects. Knowles, who had been arrested several times on murder charges, always managed to beat the rap. His only convictions were for firearm and drug possession.
Nicolas also had an extensive arrest history, but no convictions.
