An undercover police officer was shot in the shoulder by one of his colleagues during a daylight operation yesterday afternoon.
The incident occurred when officers surrounded a house in McCullough Corner, Mason’s Addition, to serve an arrest warrant on a suspect. When they entered the home, they saw a man armed with a gun. According to a source, one of the officers fired at the man not knowing he was an undercover detective.
The officer was hit in the right shoulder.
Sources say it is possible he did not identify himself as a police officer.
