It happened again. The idiots working on the poorly planned Baha Mar project cut the fiber optic line that delivers cable services to residents of western New Providence. This is the second time in eight weeks that the careless workers shut down cable services.
Baha Mar, an unwieldy and obnoxious development that is destroying New Providence, more than likely will never be completed for several reasons, not the least of which is an erosion of tourism to the Bahamas and a worsening world economic situation.
“It was never intended to be completed,” said one critic who asked not to be identified for fear of reprisal.
“The goal was to build out specific infrastructural components and then sell the remaining beachfront land for condo development,” they added.
No matter the plan, the development is wreaking havoc on residents of western New Providence.
Road diversions, constant power outages and cable service interruptions are just a few of the problems that have already surfaced. Thousands of Chinese workers headed this way will cause additional problems.
With constant power cuts and BEC’s recent admission that there is not enough generating capacity to meet the existing needs of New Providence; water rationing; and disgusting sewer backups all along Cable Beach, it is obvious that there is not enough water, sewerage or electricity for such a massive development on such a tiny island.
“They need to shut that damn development down,” said an angry resident of western New Providence.
Poor Cable Bahamas. The company received the brunt of complaints as frustrated customers took to the company’s Facebook page to voice concerns and berate the company, despite Cable Bahamas having nothing to do with the problem.
All that frustration, angst and anger should be directed at Baha Mar, which nobody needs, nobody wants and nobody but the Izmerlians and corrupt politicians will benefit from.
In other news – more stupidity from Bahamian construction workers:
Contractors at the Lynden Pindling International Airport accidentally cut a fibre optic cable connected to the airport’s computer system, causing confusion and delays. The cable went down at around 10:00am and also knocked out a portion of the airport’s phone system.
Hmmm, maybe this is why people want to hire foreigners.
