One million tourists visiting Trinidad and Tobago annually.
That is the goal of Dr Bhoe Tewarie, Minister of Planning and the Economy.
Tewarie announced his plans while speaking at the sod turning ceremony for the Chaguaramas Boardwalk at Williams Bay on Monday.
According to Tewarie, the Business Monitor International’s Caribbean Tourism Report projected tourists arrivals for this country of 577,000 and 594,000 visitors in 2011 and 2012 respectively, spending an estimated US$817 million in 2011 and US$880 million in 2012. According to the report, the Bahamas received close to five million visitors in 2010.
