14-year-old Katrina Dorsett, student of the Bishop Michael Elden High School is the winner of the first Grand Bahama Youth Film Competition that was held recently.
This announcement way made by Laurie Tuchel on Tuesday afternoon at the Canal House, Pelican Bay Resort.
Tuchel said that this winning film, “Cyber Bullying” will be featured at the upcoming Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) on Location in Grand Bahama October 27 – 30, 2011, and again at the Festival in Florida October 21 – November 11, 2011.
The competition was for 12 to 18 year olds with a theme of “A Conversation in Grand Bahama,” and was intended to be imaginatively interpreted incorporating any idea or event that originated on Grand Bahama.
As winner Katrina will also receive $500 cash, a professional quality video camera and a trip to Fort Lauderdale Film Festival (FLIFF) for the screening there.
