In a post titled, “MP changes story?”, Bahamas blogger Rick Lowe catches Opposition MP for Fox Hill, Fred Mitchell, changing his story from saving City Markets through government “intervention” to saying he means the workers rights “ought to be protected”.
Lowe points out that Mitchell originally told the press that the MP “renewed his call for intervention to save the beleaguered City Markets food store chain, telling the Tribune newspaper that the company was “worth saving“. Yet, in a long article in the Tribune, filled with quotes form Mr Mitchell, mention of the associates occurs only 3 times. The focus of Mr Mitchell’s comments appear to be about saving the company through government “intervention”. The MP would have people believe the opposite. But it’s not surprising.
“If he wishes to back away from this statement, it’s simple enough to say so, rather than reducing the discussion to ad hominem attacks,” Lowe comments
