After an all-star team shocked New Providence with a last minute touchdown to win a thrilling 2010 contest, the Bahamas American Football Federation (BAFF) will be returning to the capital with three men’s teams and a ladies teams to take part in the Bahamas Flag Football League’s (BFFL) 2nd Annual Flag Football Invitational. Scheduled for the upcoming holiday weekend, October 14-16, the event will be held at the Roscow A.L. Davies Soccer Field at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Representing the BAFF will be 2011 Champions, Zorba Destroyers, Frecon Alliance and the Shipyard Wreckers in the men’s division, and the Grand Bahama Lady Piranhas in the ladies division.
BAFF representative Vincent Marshall expressed the teams’ anticipation of the event.
“We are looking forward to strengthening our relationship with the BFFL and participating in this tournament is a great way to support our colleagues in flag football. Altogether I think our teams bring the intensity that only the GB teams have, we play a different game from the Nassau teams so we plan on bringing that to the party this year,” he said.
