Nassau, The Bahamas – The Minister of Public Works and Transport Neko C. Grant is appealing to motorists and residents to contact the ministry to report locations of potholes that have developed throughout New Providence. The ministry’s hotline is 302-9700. Call between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Current Traffic Diversions:
The ministry announced today that Baillou Hill Road between Wulff and Brougham Street will be closed after morning peak hours on Friday, October 28 to allow final asphalt paving works. The alternative route is Market Street. This closure is expected to last for one day.
On Saturday, October 29 the junction of Baillou Hill and Wulff Roads along with Baillou Hill Road between Baker Street and the Wulff Road junction will be closed to allow final asphalt paving works. Motorists should follow the diversion signs. This closure is expected to last for one day.
The junction at Palm Tree Avenue and Market Street has been closed to allow for excavation and paving works. It is anticipated that the junction will be reopened by Monday, October 31. Motorists are asked to use Coconut Grove Avenue or Poinciana Avenue as alternatives.
The Ministry wishes to advise that the junction at School Lane and Baillou Hill Road is closed to allow installation of underground utilities. Motorists are advised to use Market Street to access School Lane.
A temporary road closure exists on a section of Prince Charles Drive between Beatrice Avenue and Garden Road. Motorists travelling east and west bound should follow the diversion route via Gleniston Park Avenue and Garden Road.
As road works continue the Ministry of Public Works and Transport encourages residents to support businesses that fall within the areas where road works are in progress. The Ministry wishes to thank motorists for their patience and cooperation as construction continues.
