It appears than no part of The Bahamas is immune to violent crime as a couple is robbed at gunpoint in their luxury hotel room at Sandals Emerald Bay in Exuma.
An armed man burst into a hotel room at Sandals Emerald Bay in Exuma and robbed two Canadian visitors.
The robber apparently scaled the exterior wall of the Exuma property, hoisted himself onto a second floor balcony, and entered the guest room through a sliding door.
Although the guests were not hurt during the daring Tuesday night robbery, they were scared and shocked.
The robber took the couple’s cash, a camera and a watch, before quickly fleeing.
Police said the gunman was unmasked and wearing dark clothing.
Sandals Emerald Bay is a 500-acre luxury resort formerly operated by the Four Seasons Resort Great Exuma, at Emerald Bay.
It was owned by a collection of investors who ran into financial difficulties, forcing the property into receivership before being purchased by Sandals Resorts International in 2009.
No one has been arrested for the robbery.
So much for “Better in The Bahamas.”
