Attorney General Sets Murder Accused Trio Free

Three men accused of a murder that occurred in 2009 were set free after the attorney general abruptly stopped their prosecution.

Kendrick Sands, Julian Johnson and Leshan Bowe appeared before Senior Justice Jon Isaacs yesterday for the start of their trial for the January 25, 2009 murder of Onado Newbold.

Newbold was shot multiple times in the chest during a drive-by shooting in Nassau Village. However, the trial did not proceed. Prosecutor Darnell Dorsette informed the court that the attorney general had exercised his discretion to discontinue the case.

Judge Isaacs told the men that they were discharged and free to go.
