A new Caribbean women’s magazine was launched on Monday in the Bahamas with its goal to press for greater empowerment for women.
According to Director of Communications, Inderia Saunders, this magazine is an answer to cries for more substantial coverage of women’s issues in the region.
E Woman Magazine is a high-end, full color, bound publication, and seeks to explore and investigate concerns of women in various regional countries.
The magazine, which will be published six times a year, has its’ first issue in circulation this November, featuring a cutting edge interview with the First Lady of the United States’ Virgin Islands Cecile de Jongh.
The inaugural “Yes We Are Beautiful” edition also explores the ‘Beautiful Shades of Black,’ with an in-depth article focusing on the different skin tones defined as black and the reactions they generate from the public.
Saunders says, that is just the beginning.
“There are financial, health and beauty tips highlighted in every issue as well as art and culture and entertainment from around the region” she continued. “Recipes from the different countries will also be shared in every issue to go hand-in-hand with the E Bazaar section that features shopping items from the different nations.
