The work consists of construction of groynes that will be backfilled with sand. The restored beach will extend along the shoreline from Fort Montagu in the north to the concrete dock in the south.

The project is being carried out in phases to permit access and use of the beach during the construction period. The project was officially launched in September 22 and is sponsored by Kerzner International.
