Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham stressed the urgency of Bahamians who have not yet done so to register to vote in “the next two weeks or so”. Ingraham said the plan is to issue voter’s cards in early January.
The prime minister was wrapping up debate on a resolution approving the revision of boundaries and the redistribution of seats, which passed just before 5 p.m. with a few minor modifications.
Ingraham said there are 138,000 registered voters and the government expects at least 22,000 more people to register.
