Pheron Chipman, the son of a Bahamian diplomat and former acting president of COB was gunned down by an unidentified man using an AK-47 assault rifle.
The shooting took place in the Farrington Road area, near Ajax Street.
Chipman, 33, also known as Pheron Johnson, was the son of Rhonda Chipman who is currently serving as Bahamas Consul-General to New York.
Police say Chipman was a drug peddler who had been charged with assault and gun possession in the past.
He was killed execution style – shot in the head, abdomen, chest and legs – presumably to send a message to somebody else.
