Callenders & Co. partner Chad D. Roberts, CLE, JD, BS was recently named the leading corporate law expert in The Bahamas by the Global Law Experts (GLE), joining only 2000 attorneys worldwide and the only one in the country to hold ‘country’s best in corporate law’ title through September 2012.
The oldest law firm in the country was exclusively chosen as the recommended Bahamian practice in the area of Corporate Law with Roberts designated as the recommended attorney. The newly-acquired appointment positions Roberts as the only GLE-accredited lawyer representing this practice area in the jurisdiction for the remainder of the GLE fiscal year.
“I am honoured to have been selected by Global Law Experts,” said Roberts. “Callenders & Co. has been through some internal restructuring in recent years. However, these awards demonstrate the strength of our practice and show that we remain fully committed to delivering professional excellence through personal service to every client. Callenders & Co. is The Bahamas’ only law firm with a history that stretches from the beginning of one century to the start of the next, adapting to changing business environments, legal framework and available technological and human resources.”
Cited as the premier guide for leading attorneys throughout the world, the Global Law Experts (GLE) accreditation process is by invitation only. Once invitations for application are issued, a lawyer or his or her firm may apply or the nomination may be submitted by peers who believe the nominee is deserving of the honour. Those nominations are then screened and the final decision is made by a panel of Global Law Experts’ judges following an intensive research process. Selections cannot be purchased and applicants undergo an intensive research process before even being considered by the nomination panel for final assessment and validation.
Global Law Experts has become a valuable tool for business leaders, in-house counsel, high net-worth individuals, operations directors, investors, accountants, banks, and the general population looking for quality legal advice in all corners of the world and in all relevant fields. The organisation now recommends nearly 2,000 lawyers from 140 countries in 30 practice areas.
Roberts graduated Magna Cum Laude from Taylor University in 1996, where he received his BS in Accounting Systems. He continued studies at Stetson University College of Law, earning his Juris Doctor in December 1998 and later earning a Certificate in Legal Education from the Eugene Dupuch Law School in 2000. Roberts was called to the Florida Bar in 1999 and The Bahamas Bar in 2000. He is a member of The Bahamas Bar Association, The Florida Bar Association and The American Bar Association.
