CHARLESTOWN, Nevis — The US Federal Bureau of Investigation has sent at least one agent to Nevis to investigate last week’s armed robbery of US Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer at his vacation home on the island, a law enforcement official said on Tuesday.
The 73-year-old Breyer, wife Joanna and guests were confronted by the robber around 9 p.m. EST Thursday in the home Breyer owns on the Caribbean island of Nevis, spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said. The intruder took about $1,000 in cash and no one was hurt, Arberg said.
Meanwhile, Nevis premier Joseph Parry said in a local radio interview on Tuesday that he visited Breyer at his home last Friday, the day after the robbery took place. Parry also asked for help from witnesses with any information about the incident.
The robbery was reported to local authorities shortly after it happened last Thursday night, and local media said no arrests had been made as of Monday.
