Silver Airways Receives Fourth New Aircraft

Silver Airways

Silver Airways continued its fleet upgrade this week, accepting delivery of its fourth Saab 340Bplus.  The Fort Lauderdale-based carrier, which received United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval to operate the Saab 340Bplus aircraft type in March 2012, has secured agreements with Saab Aircraft Leasing to purchase a total of 12 of the advanced turboprops.  Silver Airways expects to integrate all 12 of its Saab 340Bplus aircraft into its fleet by September 2012.

Each Saab 340Bplus features comfortable seating for 34 passengers, large, easy-to-access overhead bins, personalized flight attendant service, an active noise reduction system and on-board lavatories. The new aircraft will be used to upgrade service on existing routes, increase frequencies and allow Silver Airways to add new service in additional markets.

“In the relatively short period since we initiated passenger service using the Saab 340’s, the response has been tremendous,” said Darrell Richardson, CEO of Silver Airways, commented.  “This fourth new Saab furthers our commitment to deliver the very best flight experience for our valued customers.”

Named Lady Victory, the fourth Saab 340Bplus recognizes Victory Park Capital, the Chicago-based investment firm that owns Silver Airways.
